Protecting Electronic Signatures in Word Documents

Sometimes we need to put electronic signatures into our letters in the
format of jpeg's, tif's, or png's, then email them. Is there a way to
protect these signatures from being copied? If you protect the document, or
a section of a document, it doesn't stop people from being able to copy the
document into another document and then use the information. Is there a way
around this?

The short answer is, "No." Unfortunately, once the document leaves your
electronic hands, it's pretty much out of your control. Even applying one of
the many forms of document protection that are available in Word is no
guarantee of safety, as unscrupulous types can easily defeat the protection.
Converting the document to PDF does offer a bit more protection, but even
that is not foolproof. Bad people will always find a way to do bad things.

There is nothing to stop someone scanning your signature wherever you write
it. People make convincing copies of banknotes and traveller's cheques. A
signature is no problem to reproduce. To emphasise Gordon's message -
ANYTHING you allow someone to see (or hear) can be copied.
