Protecting a Shared Workbook

Hi
I am sharing a workbook that I'd like some users to input data into, but
Others I'd like only to view the data

Please advise how this can be done

Using MS Excel 2003
 
Password protect the workbook and only give the 'special' people the password.
HTH,
 
can multiple users input data at the same time & save the info without saving
the file w/a new name
