Protecting a perticular range only

I am not sure..if this is straight forward..
I want to protect just a single range(Non-editable) in the worksheet and rest can be editable. Is it possible?
 
Hi
try the following:
- select the entire range of your worksheet
- goto 'Format - Cells - Protection' and uncheck 'Locked' for this
range
- now select only the 'non-editable' range, goto 'Format - Cells -
Protection' and check 'Locked'
- goto 'Tools - Protection' and protect your worksheet
