Protected worksheet no longer

Thanks for your help in advance.

I have a workbook created in Excel 2002, Windows XP. I dropped a
couple of checkboxes on "sheet1" and locked it with a password. The
workbook was sent to a client, they clicked on the proper checkboxes
and then sent it back. What baffles me was that in the workbook they
sent back the worksheet was no longer password protected and
checkboxes have been renamed. I had them named "CheckBox1" and now
they are "Check Box 1". Do you know what could have caused all
these?

Thanks,
Jenn

Eduardo,

I see what you mean. I could see someone might have stripped off the
password. But, how do I explain the renamed checkboxes? And, the
information in the file's properties/summary have also been altered.
Before I go off to accuse them of anything, I am wondering if they
have an older Excel like 2000 or older, could it have caused this too?

Thanks,
Jenn
