Protected access - or not

I have a machine there if I log on with one user I am prompted for a
userid and password whenever I try to open an Access database - wherever
it originated.

I created another user, and I am able to open all the databases.

Where do I look for the problem?

Probably in the system.mdw file. Try to (rename it - DO NOT DELETE IT), and
use one from a user without the problem.

Is the system.mdw file a per user file?

It typically resides in the user's system32 directory, but it can be on the
network. Find out where the user is connecting from by going to:

Tools >>> Security >>> Workgroup Administrator

Thank you Arvin. That seems to have fixed the problem. Now to give the
machine back to the user and suggest he uses a better security device
rather than relying on Access security!

Maybe Truecrypt
