Protect workbook and hide formulaes

Neil

Hi,

Is there any way to protect a worksheet so that when any cell is
selected it displays the value in that cell instead of the formulaes.

Thanks
Neil

You can hide the formula a cell contains (or multiple cells) by:

(in xl2003 menus)
Format|cells|Protection tab|check that Hidden box.
Then protection the worksheet (tools|Protection|protect sheet)

The formulas will be hidden, but the formula bar will look empty (the worksheet
cell will look pretty).

Thanks Dave - I didn't know about the hidden function within cells
menu. I was expecting it to be with the protect worksheets section,
and was trying different combinations.

Thanks again

Neil
