Our Coporate office has numerous Word forms that won't print properly on my
printer. The documents are protected and don't allow me to alter margins
etc. Is there a way to protect a document and still allow users to change
setttings like this? I'd like to know how so I can instruct Corporate.

You would have to unlock the form, make the change and then relock - though
you can do so in a macro, for which the method is described (for another
function) at http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/MacrosVBA/SpellcheckProtectDoc.htm

The protection applied to forms is easily circumvented. It is there
primarily to inhibit accidental changes. See

Corporate won't give out the passwords otherwise it wouldn't be an issue. If
I remove the password as you suggest I couldn't reprotect the file using the
same password that Corporate used since I don't know what it is. I was
hoping there was some way that Corporate could protect the file and still let
remote sites modify the printing parameters. Nothing in the Tools/Protect
Document menu alows for this possibility.

While the document remain locked certain functions remain locked also.
If for some reason the company requires that these files be password
protected, then you'll have to live with it or get IT support to make the
changes required.
