Protect a document but allow links to work

Guest

I have created a word document with a variety of links to other pages, the web, etc. When I protect the document so that nobody can change it the links cease to work. Is there a way to protect the document and still allow the links to continue to work? I am working with Word 97. Thanks in advance for your help.

You can place your cursor in between the protected and non-protected
locations and "Insert", "Break", "Section - Continuous". Then when you
protect your form, you specify which Sections to protect and which ones not
to protect.
