proper way to eject compact flash so that I can mount another without reboot?

I use the small taskbar icon to select the USB drive icon for the compact flash
- and then tell it to stop it.

This works fine, except that I have to reboot the computer if I want to look a
more data on the compact flash.

Is there a way to create a short cut to some DOS commands that would eject it -
without totally stopping the USB ports?

Can't you just unplug the flash drive and then plug it
back in to be re-recognized, instead of rebooting ??

I assume you are using a card reader which will show as
probably the "G" drive in 'My Computer', if you right
click the drive it is using in 'My Computer' and then
on 'eject' you can just remove it and re-insert it again
if you want to.

Good Luck

is there a DOS command for this - so that I can make a desktop shortcut?
Thanks, Les Caudle

actually, I'm interested in creating a desktop shortcut that will eject the USB
drive - and I think I need some DOS commands I can add to a bat file for that.

Thanks anyway.
