Prompted for a drive password I never set.

I have two PC's running separate, copies of XP networked together via Linksys
switch/router. I was able to access the other harddrive from either PC Ok.
Then a drive failed. Bought a new drive and reinstalled that PC's copy of XP
but now when I try to access the drive it prompts me for a password. Never
set a password before so what can I do?

If I understand your question, the simple way to fix this is to have the
same username and password on both computers and you are logged in on as
that user on both computers.
