Prompt to Save appointment

I have Outlook 2002/XP on WinXP SP2

When I bring up appointments in my Outlook Calendar to view details (such as
notes), the appt prompts me to save it even if I have made no changes (in
fact, I haven't even clicked in any fields)

This behavior isn't consistent; it seems to occur approx 1/2 the time I
bring up and close an appointment.

Other information:
- I synchronize with a Palm (Zire 72 until recently; now T|X) and use
Outlook and NOT the Palm Desktop

Thank you for any information . . .

Use Save and Close on the top left corner as your default. You'll save
clicks when you have made changes!

Thank you for your reply Judy . . .

What I was trying to get across is, Why does this behavior occur (the
prompting to save the appt when I exit it, even when no changes are made)?

Frequently, I'll bring up an appt to see the details, but make no changes
whatsoever, yet, I'm still prompted to save it.

Other times, when I make no changes whatsoever, it DOESN'T prompt me to save.

The behavior is inconsistent, in the first place.

In the second place, I understand that the Calendar Appointment should
behave like Microsoft Word or Excel. If no changes are made to a file after
it is brought up, the user is not prompted to save the file. Therefore, if no
changes are made to a calendar appt, the user should not be prompted to save
it.

Thank you for your patience . . . obviously, this isn't life and death, but
I'm just trying to figure out this behavior.
