prompt criteria in find command

Is there a way to prompt a user by using the find command? I am trying to do
something similar to what User "Wolfman" posted on 11/25/2004, subject:
"Find". However, the Combobox is not ideal to me, because I do not want to
allow the user to view the possible choices. I just want the user to
manually type the account #.
 
I forgot to mention, the reason why I am not creating a query to prompt the
user for criteria is that although my main form where I want to do my search
is based on a table, I also have several other subforms linked that are based

Use a Query with a criterion

[Enter Account number:]

The brackets will cause Access to bring up whatever's between them as
a prompt and use whatever the user types as a criterion in the query.
