Projecting video in PowerPoint

When playing an inserted mpeg file in PowerPoint 2003, the image plays on my
laptop but only a black box appears on the screen when projected. Can't
recall how to accomplish having the projected PPoint presentation show on the
screen. I am using XP. Thx.

Toggle so the image is only projecting on the projector.

When we have that problem it's usually with a Laptop and an Mpeg. Force the
signal to go out of the Laptop only.Most laptops toggle between: laptop
screen
projector
both

Use your "FN" key, lower left corner plus whichever "F" key at the top
switches your video signal. Often it's F5 or F7. It'll often have a diagram
indicating two computer screens, and varies among manufacturers.

If using a standalone computer I've read that turning off "Hardware
Acceleration" in Display properties may help;I've never had that happen.
