Programs will not run

Yes i have recently bought a Dell Inspiron 6000. When i install
programs on it they install correctly and everything looks good but
when i go to run the program nothing happens. It shows that it is
loading but then thats it the apllication never starts.


I have no idea what the problem could be. Please help.
