I am using Windows XP and all works fine except I notice that when I go to
Start and then Programs, they show up in 1 long , continuous column rather
than side by side, where I would be able to see all of them.

In the long column I need to use the down arrow to see the rest.

Hi

Right click on the Start button and select Properties>Customize. Then
scroll down the list and disable 'Use Personalized Menus'.

Right click start button, properties, customize, advanced, uncheck: scroll
programs.

90% of all spyware filled computers I fix
have AOL and AOL's "anti-spyware", "anti-virus"
system. Not to mention that free anti-spyware and
anti-virus software has been available for
4-5 years. Why is AOL just now telling their
users about this free software. Makes you
wonder....
Time to get the real internet and cancel AOL.

You might want to try this:

Right click an empty space on your taskbar (the one with the
Start button).
Select Properties.
Select the Start menu page.
Select Cutomize.
If you're using the XP style menu, click on the Advanced page.
In the Start menu items box uncheck "Scroll programs".
If you're using the Classic style menu click Customize.
In the "Advanced Start menu options" uncheck "Scroll programs".

You should now see multiple columns displayed.

Thanks for the good advice!
