Programs running automatically on start up

Help! I can't seem to find a solution.

Every time I start up XP, my Norton Anti-Virus goes into scan mode, severely
slowing down the computer. I can'tseem to stop it. How do I stop it from
doing this (there is nothing in the menus available in Norton to help)
 
you can delete Norton in your start-up list, or you can dl regcleaner for
free and have it deleted there. It worked with me...
