programming for advanced filter using external criteria file

Hi,buddy,

very glad to meet you guys, I have a question regarding to advanced filter
in EXCEL.

I have 2 excel files: one is called 1.xls(date source)and the other called
2.xls(criteria).

now I want to use a region in one sheet (sheetname called 22) in 2.xls as
criteria, select macthing records in

11 sheet of 1.xls, then copy to the newly created sheet 12 in 1.xls.

I don't know if excel allows this external criteria, many thanks in advance.

Just curious, why not experiment yourself to find out? I wasn't sure so I
tried it. (Yeah, it does).

Jim,

thanks for early reply. just forget to tell I am new to VBA. still I
sucessfully use internal criteria to do advanced
filter on date source.

i just wanna know how to refer the external criteria in VBA, so your guide
is highly appreciated.
