Programmatically disconnect from Internet

In the event of a virus attack is it possible to programmatically disconnect
from the Internet or disable the TCP/IP Ethernet network?

That's a definite maybe. So in theory yes, in reality you may not have
the control anymore!

With wsh and the netsh command you should be able to do what you are after.

Keep in mind that it is possible that it may wreak havoc with serivces
running on the target machine that has the interface that you are shutting
down if thy depend on the Nic being "up" to be able to run. I can't think
of any off the top of my head, but it is something to keep in mind.
