PROGRAM WON'T INSTALL

Hello
I belong to Lime Wire, and up until yesterday, have not had a problem with
it, then it has gotten where when I log off and log back on again, all lists
of searches I was doing has vanished.
I had to uninstall it yesterday, and when I went to reinstall it, it will
not install.
It goes through the motions, but gets stuck with "Loading User Interface",
and the only way to clear that is to log off and log back on again.
I have worked with this for 2 days, but nothing works ... the "Free" version
will not install either.
The only factor I'm not sure of, I had to reinstall my Zone Alarm Pro.
Could the zone alarm be blocking it? I went into the Zone Alarm, and
everything for Lime Wire is "all go"... but is it possible there has been a
change in the firewall?? and, if so, how can I fix this?

What do you mean when you say that you "belong to Lime Wire?" Did you pay
for something which is actually freeware? The official, real and free
version can be downloaded here:
http://www.limewire.com/english/content/home.shtml There's no need to pay
for freeware, but many people do for some reason. Who knows what extra
stuff is bundled with the paid version you've ended up with? Maybe that
unknown bundled software needs to phone home during installation, but ZA
is blocking it? You could try going *offline* and shutting ZA down during
the install- perhaps one of its other features is interfering. But please
don't be tempted to go online without a firewall out of frustration.

LimeWire connects to the Gnutella Network, as do several other clients:
http://www.slyck.com/gnutella.php Shareaza is one popular (and free)
alternative to LimeWire: http://www.shareaza.com/

Regards,
Ian.
