Program trying to load @ every startup

XP Professional:- Every startup, Adobe acrobat 5 tries to
load in. I've deleted earlier acrobats! Loaded in "5"!
Uninstalled every Adobe program! Loaded acrobat reader 6!
It just keeps coming. It's like Ground Hog Day! Help

if i understand, you don't want adobe to load when you startup. delete its shortcut from the 'startup' under 'all programs'. also, run 'msconfig' and look under the 'startup' tab to uncheck adobe, then apply and restart. you may also go into your registry under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and delete the path that points to adobe in the 'string' value by editing it. there are programs that do all this for you, but this is the manual way
