Program trying to access my address book

Everytime I choose to send a new message I get a pop-up warning that
program is trying to access the addresses in my contact list and ask
for a yes or no choice. I always choose no for the obvious reasons.
I have run numerous virus and trojan scans without finding an
threats. So why does this keep coming up? It is a bit annoying an
did not happen before. Is there a setting I have wrong? Confused
