Program to create mouse cursors

Hello people.

exists any free program to create mouse cursors? I want to create some BIG,
animated mouse cursors. (i.e. to make the cursor easier to find when you're with
lots of open windows).

I've used a nice set of animated cursors
called Real3DIcons for quite a while ....

The author has some info at the site
about how he makes the animated cursors
and what software he uses ....

Some of the info may be useful in general
for building animated cursors, but I don't remember
if any of the software he uses is FreeWare ....
