Program Removal

I have had problems with the installation of a program (Symantec Antivirus),
it seems to have had problems loading/finding DLL files. In either case, I
am now trying to remove the program. I have gone to Add Remove Programs and
it is there ,but will not remove. The screen flashes and nothing changes. I
have stopped all instances of it from starting at start up in MSCONFIG, but
still can not remove it. Because it is installed, I am unable to load a
different antivirus (yahoo antivirus) which is very disconcerting. Does
anyone have instructions that could lead me through removing this LEACH from
my system, to include any Registry steps. HELP!

The Windows Installer clean up utility should help and is usually recommended
by Symantec to remove their apps, if an installation fails or becomes
corrupted..
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301

If you have other Symantec apps other than the AV app take caution and
contact or visit their site for help..
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPOR...56d8e0076b346&dtype=&prod=&ver=&osv=&osv_lvl=

If the AV app is the only Symantec product you have installed then uninstall
all entries named or that begin with; Symantec, Norton, CC_ , ccCommon ..
Hope this can help..
