Program is too big to fit in memory

T

Tom

For the last day or so, anytime I try to invoke IE6 I
have been getting a DOS batch window that displays the
error message "Program is too big to fit in memory."

Has anyone encountered this problem before? The computer
is a 1.2 GHz Athlon with 128MB of RAM and everything else
is running well and very fast. I performed a clean
install of Windows XP Professional less than one week ago.

Erroneous memory error messages when you *have* enough memory
are often caused by Spyware.

with your pre-installed anti-virus scanner.

I ran both of these utilities, yet the problem persists.
Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks a lot for your
help.

That fast? Hmm.... <scratches head>

Disable some of your startup applications using MSCONFIG.
