Program Install problem XP Home Updated except for SP2

For maybe 2 weeks I`1ve been having a problem with the length of time it takes
to install a small program; 4-5 MB.

The install bar goes to 90% and stops.
If I go off it has installed.
I timed one tonite and after 10 minutes I tried Cntrl+Alt+del and the installer
was still running.
I closed the window and the install finished.
May be coincidence?
Any solutions or how to check out the problem will be appreciated.

I use some of these and several more; that isn`t the problem.
After installing a program yesterday that took about 6 seconds, i`m wondering if
the problem isn`t the installer some of these problem programs use?
They look similar.
