Windows 98 had a program called Netwatch. I can't find a comparable program
in Windows XP Pro. Is there one or is there a freeware alternative
available?

I was refering to the file that came with Windows 98 Called Netwatcher that
let you visually check out local network shares and disconnect them if
necessary. Not the spyware program of the same name. The file was located
in add/remove programs under the windows component tab.

By the way, if you go to that first URL (www.2-spyware.com), you get
what appears to be an Internet Explorer pop-up ad (even if you have a
popup blocker). It is actually a trick to get you to download and
install software. Don't fall for it.
