Program button icons

I'm writing some documentation about EES software and I would like to
include in text some icons of the program buttons.
Can anyone tell me where can I find these icons (in the program file
itself - EES.exe, in some dll library) ?. I would like to know the answer
not just for this program, but also in general.

You can normally find the icons in the program itself or in that folder.And
default windows icons can be found in C:\windows\system32\shell32.dll where
c: is your system drive
