Program attempting to use Outlook options

P

Paul Engel

I have two issues w/ Outlook 2002's cumulative security patches related to
external programs "taking control" of Outlook.

1) Anti-Spam - I am running Norton's Anti-Spam. Whenever I click the button
to mark an email as spam, which adds the email address to the Norton black
list AND moves the email to the Norton Anti-Spam folder, I first have to
respond to a dialog notifying me that another application is attempting to
take control of Outlook and asking to to tell it if I want this to happen
and how long I want the access to be granted.

I would like to tell Outlook to always allow this application to take
control. Is there anywhere that I can do this? It would be nice if it was on
that dialog.

2) I have a program that runs in the background (workflow) and when certain
events happen in that software, a MAPI email is addressed and sent w/
pre-defined title and body to certain users. Since my default MAPI client is
Outlook, the call is sent to Outlook. Instead of just doing as it is told,
Outlook stops and offers a dialog asking if this is OK. Again, I want to set
this application up so Outlook allways allows it to do it's thing. It does
me no good to come into my office in the morning and have to manually kick
these processes off. Defeats the whole purpose!

Any help would be appreciated.
