Program Association

I'm new to the group, so this issue might have been discussed and I
apologize if it has. When I get an email attach' that it is a power point
point file it won't open because it needs a program associated with it. I
have power point viewer loaded on the pc. Is there a easy solution. My
other pc with Xp there is no problem. I have tried building an association
but with no luck, guess not holding my mouth right.
