When I first turn my PC on and login my profile doesn’t seem to completely
load – short cuts and desktop pictures are missing.

If I log out and log back in again using the same users name the profile
seems fully restored.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what is going on?

Thanks

Frank

Do/perform these steps:
1- Run A disk clean up on your Drive.

2- Run a scan for malwares and Viruses
3- Run a health check on your HDD by runing the Diagnostic tool from the
Hard drive manufacturer website the for sepcs of your HDD and see if there
are bad clusters, sectors.
4- How much disk space you have on your Computer.
5 - How much RAM you have Installed.
6- Try Clean Boot to see if you have Lots of start up applications:

7- Check the event viewer for any error messages that can shed some lights
on the culprit if any.
8- If all didn't help then Open your Run Command and type in:
sfc /scannow click [OK] and wait for it to finish, get your XP CD handy
to insert it IN if the system prompted you to do so.
