profile locked !!!

I have just reinstalled my copy of windows xp home, and have accidentally
locked my old user profile up and can'taccess alot of my photos that I had on
the desktop of that profile etc....
Can anyone help me out by telling me how to access this profile... thank you

What exactly do you mean with "locked"? What do you see on
the screen when you try to access your pictures?

Perhaps you just need to take ownership of the files/folders -

Having had this experience, I would hope that it would remind you of
the importance of regular backups. Now would be a good time to back up
those photos...

I back up regulary every week.but there were new files that I hadn't back up
this week and the computer spat the dummy before I ran the back up program.
