Profile issues

I've got a user that when he logs at his xp machine it takes about 1 minute
to fully load his profile. Once he types in his password and clicks ok, XP
makes its normal logging in sound and the screen stays blue for a minute as I
mentioned, with no hard drive activity. However, if he logs out and logs
back in, his profile load instantly. This only occurs during a cold boot or
restart. Note: This happens to anyone logging into the machine.

- Specs - IBM Thinkpad, XP Pro sp1
- I've disable everything at startup - still occurs
- I've ran a number of spyware programs - still occurs
- Removed anything that looks funky in the registry - still occurs

Could this be a hard drive issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Hi Paul,

Happens at first boot, regardless of the user that logs on? Something about
the common user environment then is not loading into ram ahead of the logon.
Tough one (couldn't be so easy as to be in the C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup folder now could it?). Gonna have to go
more in depth to isolate it:

Hi Rick, thanks for responding to my post. I don't think I tried this,
believe it or not. I will give it a shot and keep you posted.

Thanks again!
