Product key typed already in use

Hi there,

Had a nasty HDD failure last week and so have had to buy a new computer, and
have upgraded it to Vista from the CD I bought a few months ago - but I had
already installed the CD on my previous PC, and now it is telling me that the
Product key typed is already in use.

How can I activate Windows so that I can use it with the product key from
the CD I purchased without having to purchase a new one?

Just to clarify, my previous computer is no longer in use - so the product
key isn't in use by that computer...
