After a recent domain upgrade/change (sorely needed). The consultant I
utilize, done an in place upgrade of the O/S via an OEM cd; instead of my
Volume Lic. Media. His thoughts were that they could be activated manually
without any issue.
Problem now is: The machines go into a loop when users try to logon.
Saying the following: Windows Product Activiation
A problem is preventing Windows from accuratley checking the license for
this computer.
Error Code: 0X80070002
Whereupon it then proceeds to log off and return to the Hit ctrl Alt Del
screen to login.
I have reformated the primary (C) hard drive on the machine with the same
results.
After running Bootcfg tools it's now evident that the Secondary drive had an
installed os on it. Would disconne ting the "D" drive at startup or during
O'S installation resolve this?
I have also used the recovery console method prior to this; rem'ing out the
files in Sys32 and restoring/expanding them back from the XP CD (Vol Lic.
Media).
Same results. Any way to use any of the tools provided or almost nearly
quick fix? I have a user walking around doing little else other than saying
his machine is un-useable.
Pointers - A General Guide - Heads Up --
Anything you can suggest realy
Thank You!
