Problen accessing the web

W

wayne

I have two network adaptors, one a wireless and one
10/100 ethernet.
The Ethernet one is connected to my router.
The wireless is setup for computer to computer.
The problem that I am having is if both are enabled I
cannot get on the web through internet explorer. The only
way that I can get connect is to disable the wireless
adapter.
Is there a way to make this work with both adaptors
enabled?

Wayne,

You can do this. Your default gateway needs to specify the router.
And when you install the wireless adaptor, you need to indicate that
it will not be used for internet connection.

It would be a lot simpler though if you'd get a WAP for the router,
and connect the other computer to that. Then your computer and the
other computer could connect as peers, and you would not need the
wireless adaptor in your computer.

Chuck
Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.
