Hi,
i've been browsing around for some infos about problems related to the quite famous WinAntiVirusPro 2007 virus or whatever is called or classified, and that's how i found your forum.
i'm not sure where it came from, the only thing i downloaded before the problems start was an update for Java.
i'm experiencing all the known problems with this virus:
-no control panel
-no add or remove programs
-loss of processor speed
-much longer response time
-startup problem " C:\WINDOWS\system32\printer.exe program not found
-the files i recognize as responsible for the problem are: WINAVXX.exe - PRINTER.exe - HANONVT.ini
my Norton IS2007 couldn't even see the problem so i installed and run a deep scan wirh SUPERAntiSpyware and this is the log:

Really hope someone can give me a hand with this one... i still can use my machine and still have access to taskmanager but the system is definitely slow and it needs a fix.
thanks

Yep, join the club.

I suggest you ...

turn off System Restore:

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Next ...

download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=1

Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program

Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

(NOTE: If you use FireFox or the Opera browser
To keep saved passwords, click No at the prompt.)

It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time.

Next ...

Download ComboFix from HERE to your Desktop, or a folder of choice.

Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.

When finished, it shall produce a log for you, combofix.txt.

Note: Do not move the mouse or click while it's running.
That may cause it to stall.

Next ...

Download the attachment I posted, rename it to repairdisablereg.reg, double click and merge it to the registry.

Next ...

Reboot and "copy/paste" a combofix.txt Log and a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Remember that Hijackthis must be run in an own folder. Only if Hijackthis run in an own folder it will create backups!

Hey Muckshifter,
thanks a lot for replying...
i found my own way around the problems caused by this virus, i eventually managed to get rid of it and most of the related chained issues (still have to discover what else has been changed)...
anyhow i'm gonna get down these apps and the txt file and keep them somewhere safe just in case.
shall i generate and post the logs anyway?
much appreciated
