Problems with the copy down formula

am experiencing problems when copying down a formula. The formula retains
the value of the first cell throughout he entire selected range. Any idea as
to why this is happening?

check if automatic calculation is enabled ('Tools - Options-
Calculation')

Try:
goto 'Tools - Options - Calculation' and check 'Automatic calculation'
