After installing and attempting to run Norton Ghost (which was unsuccessful)
I started to experience numerous gliches in my system and my restore points
were deleted. All but two problems have been remedied. They are:

1. SYSTEM RESTORE

I am unable to create a restore point. After I hit the create button I
receive the message "System Restore is not able to create a restore point.
Please restart the computer, and then run System Restore again. After the
restart I get the same message again.

2. NEW CONNECTION WIZARD

Using the following sequence: New Connection Wizard > NEXT > Connect to the
Internet > NEXT > Set up my connection manually > NEXT >

The options Connection using a dial-up modem and Connect using a broadband
connection that requires a user name and password are greyed out. The only
option available is Connect using a broadband connection that is always on.

WILL APPRECIATE ANYONE'S HELP WITH THE ABOVE. THANKS

If it has got into trouble, it is best to clear it out and let it start
clean too. System Restore. Check 'Disable System Restore, and OK,
reboot. Now have Folder Options - View set to show Hidden files, and
*not* Hide Protected mode ones and delete everything in the System
Volume Information folder on each drive

At this point you might reinstall it to be sure - in the hidden
Windows\Inf folder, right click on sr.inf and take Install

Start SR up again, and I suggest reviewing the settings for each drive.
There is not much point having it enabled on data drives, and on ones
with System or Programs I would reduce the space allotted if more than
say 1GB - I use 500MB, the minimum is 200 which will only handle maybe a
week of points. But the default of 12% of a drive seems too much for
its own good on modern large drives
