Problems with pasting charts

I am trying to copy and paste a series of charts in Excel
2003 and am getting a "No more new fonts may be applied
in this workbook" message. There is only one font being
used in the workbook. The workbook hangs after getting
the error message clear (which takes a while). The file
size is 2.8MB.

Any help would be appreciated.

John,

There's always been a problem with this. I can't find the relevant msdn
articles (when can I ever?). I thought it had got better with each
evolution, but anyway.

Each chart takes a minimum of two fonts, with a cap that runs around 255
fonts I think, so

1. make sure autoscale fonts is set to false for each chart to reduce any
sizing differences.
2. move some charts to a different workbook.

I've found the practical limit in XP is around 100 charts.

Annoying isn't it. I used to try and set up a big book as a chart
repository, but you hit the limit...
