problems with office updates for exel

I have automatic updates enabled to download and install updates when they
are available. In the last week and update for exel has failed to install it
then causes me to be to be unable to use the exel programme.
I have purchased a new office disk and reloaded it onto my machine hopeing
that this would fix the issue to no avail.

Any ideas or fixes greatly appreciated

via add/remove programs, then
you can flagg it "not to install"

secondly, you might be able
to do a system restore to a functional
date - maybe.

and repair feature under
the help option in the toolbar.
