Problems with Business Contact Manager

I'm running a stand alone installation of Outlook 2003 with Business Contact
Manager. Two times the past months I've got an error trying to open an BCM
Contact. Error messages as follows (translated from Norwegian). "Cannot open
user defined form, using standard Outlook form instead" and after clicking OK
"Data table outside it's limits". Outlook then open contact in standard
Outlook contact form. I never defined any forms, but just installed BCM and
started to use it.......
Only solution I've come up with, is to delete all contacts (or copy them) in
BCM and reinstall BCM. Then copy all contacts back again. The problem is that
all logging and events on my contacts then have been removed.
Anyone experienced the same as me? I have tryed to restore database from
backup, but that did not fix the problem.

BCM itself installs and uses custom forms. But BCM sometimes has what's
known as a "forms cache" problem. Clearing the cache usually fixes it.
Choose Tools | Options | Other | Advanced Options | Custom Forms, then click
Manage Forms, then Clear Cache. If simply clearing the cache doesn't fix the
issue, try the other steps detailed at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;836558

The bulk of the forms cache issues in Outlook 2003 are fixed in Service Pack
1, so you should also install Office 2003 Service Pack 1 as well as BCM SP1.
I haven't checked whether the international versions are available yet.

Your suggestion worked. Clearing the cache solved my problem. I've got
Outlook sp1, but I'm not sure if I got BCM SP1. (ver. 1.00.2002.08). I'll
check the web an install BCM SP1 if available in my version.

Thank's a lot.

Great link to the solution. Just surprised my multi-phrased search of
support.MS didn't dig it up. Not enough linked words. Thought that there
was a solution ID in another fix that was SP1 related. It did not relieve
problem. Still have not worked out solution with customer/client with XP SP2
issues to see if totally fixed and to see if that is related. Thanks!

Thank you so much. I have only had this version of Outlook for two weeks and
was getting very frustrated.

Unfortunately, clearing the cache did not fix my 'forms cache' issue. I also
installed sp1 for Outlook '03 and BCM to no avail. I did review the link you
suggested below also, however, it does not appear to apply to the 'forms
cache' issue. Any further suggestions Sue?

You can try a more aggressive approach to clearing the forms cache. Delete the entire contents of the Forms folder that contains the Frmcache.dat file.

The microsoft.public.outlook.bcm group may have other suggestions.
