Problems using the EuroConvert Function

Hello Fellow Access Database users, I have created my own database but I need
to use the EuroConvert function, I have been inserting the formula as per the
instructions but I am getting an error of #DIV/0! this i do not understand
why i am getting it, obviously this means that I have got a division by zero
but I cannot think why, firstly here is the formula that I am
using.....EuroConvert([RetailPrice],"GBP","EUR") the RetailPrice always
contains a value but the problem lies with the GBP the reason why I know this
is because that I have changed the GBP to EUR so there is in affect two EUR
and I am having displayed in the box the full value of RetailPrice, but I
cannot understand why I would be getting an error when GBP is used, is there
anyone out there that can help I am now desperate Best regards Mark

Hi Mark,

I believe Great Britian did not adopt the Euro when it first became
available. I just tried your expression, using Access 2002, and got the same
result. Consulting the Help file, I found that GBP is not listed as a valid
ISO code. However, the Help file also includes the following:

Later versions of the EuroConvert function may support additional
currencies. For information about new participating currencies and
updates to the EuroConvert function, see the Microsoft Office Euro
Currency Web site.

Currency ISO Code
Danish Krone DKK
Drachma GRD
Swedish Krona SEK
Pound Sterling GBP

I'm guessing that DKK, GRD and SEK will also fail if you test these now. I
spent some time trying to find this elusive web site without success. If you
find it, please post the URL.

The EuroConvert function was used to convert between the Euro and
participating currencies (or between two participating currencies) during
the transition to the single European currency. It was never intended for
use with non-participating currencies such as Sterling. It used fixed
conversion rates established by the EU for the transition. These rates
applied only to participating currencies. As Sterling was not a
participating currency, there is no fixed Sterling/Euro conversion rate. The
Sterling/Euro conversion rate fluctuates like any other international
currency conversion rate.
