Problems Using Backup Utility

When I try to backup a USB drive (18GB) using the Windows Backup Utility, it
starts the backup but quits after only 4GB. It does not display an error
message or anything like that, but rather it just closes suddenly and leaves
a 4GB backup file behind.

Any ideas?

Use Disk Management to reformat the USB drive to NTFS since
one cannot create a file larger than 4 GB on a FAT32 partition.
