Problems sending from Outbox

P

Peter Stables

When using Outlook at work on BT Broadband I have no problems sending emails
via my company email address (hosted on Clara.net) but when I try to send
email from the same account from home (Wanadoo Broadband) I get an error and
it will not send.

These things have a habit of making you think you're going mad, but I'm sure
I have been able to send them in the past.

what do you mean by "from the same account"?

Do you mean you have set From as <[email protected]> or do
you mean you have also set SMTP and POP as <mycompany.something>

If the latter then you will probably find that Wanadoo won't let you
make an outgoing SMTP connection to your company mailserver, you'll have
to configure it so it uses Wanadoo's SMTP server.

Failing that, talk to your IT department and have them set up a VPN for
you so you join your compay's network for doing company work. That would
be my prefered option so everything you do goes through the corporate
firewalling and protection systems.

What is the error?
