problems opening https sites

I can get to all other web sites except for the secure
ones. It does not even give me the pop-up window saying
that I will be going to a secure site. All it does is go
straight to a dns page.

Yes I have 128 bit encryption
Yes I have IE version 6
Yes my internet options are set properly
Yes I have tried multiple https sites (all with the same
results)

The problem with this whole thing is that when i had a
broadband connection back in the States I could goto any
site w/o problems. Now I'm using a modem and htts sites
are not available.

If neone has any ideas the help would be much appreciated.

Ditto here. I have a problem accessing a specific secure
website (banknorth.com), others are working well. When I
access using netscape I have no problems. Went through 6.0
uninstall and going to 5.0, 5.5 to no avail. Call
the "support" at the bank but they lack basic knowledge.
Symptoms are blank screen with bar loading showing and
then stopping. W2K,cable modem through router, else the
same as below. I have another XP computer - accesing from
there is no problem!
Any assitance much appreciated.
