problems in logging off

Hi everybody!
I installed recently Windows XP Pro on my computer and I've got some
problems.
Indeed, the computer doesn't turn off and it doesn't reboot. It stands
by while "turning off windows".
Moreover, the "hibernate" mode is inactive.
I previously used Windows Me and everything worked perfectly. There
are no problems under RedHat 9.
