Problems erasing and re typing text

I am experiencing some odd behaviour when erasing and trying to re type text
in messages: if I go to erase some text and then retype Outlook will
occasionally erase FORWARD so that I end up retyping entire text that follows
the correction. It is growing more frequent and I have no idea why it starts
or ,more importantly, how to stop it. I have had to re type several
paragraphs....thank you
 
Sounds like you hit the Insert key by accident toggling the insert/overwrite
mode
