Problems encountered on moving XP-formatted NTFS-disk to WIN2K

I have moved a dynamic disk, 40 GB (formatted with NTFS),
from the XP-computer to a WIN2K-computer. However,
although the BIOS sees the new disk, and although it was
registered as "NEW HARDWARE DETECTED" and initialized, it
is NOT VISIBLE under DISK MANAGEMENT. (or windows
explorer for that matter). ANY IDEAS (The disk contains a
few GB of wanted data and I would rather not format it if
not necessary).
 
Did you try to rescan disks in DiskManagement if there is no foreign disk?
If I recall, W2k with SP2 at least can recognize NTFS 5.1.
