anytime i move a media file (.mpg, .mp3, .avi) to another
folder, i get an error when i try to play the file
(access denied, when i hit details it says "File is in
use" Error ID = 0x80070005) i can copy mp3s from a cd
to a folder and they'll work fine, but after i move them
to a different folder i get that message. i ran virus
scan, scandisk and i even reinstalled xp (keeping the old
settings and such) i don't know what else to do!

Can you change the path of the file to reflect the new folder you move to?

sweet, i solved my problem, completely by accident, all
i had to do was go into the properties of the folders and
check the box that made it private so only i could use
it, on some of the folders that was grayed out, so i just
went to my user folder in documents and settings folder
and checked the box to make it private there, and then it
applied it to every subfolder. all the files that i
thought were corrupted all work now!
