I have a home network with assigned IPs. My problem is that my computer can
see all the other computers on the network, can also share files on the
network, but i can't get on the internet. We have a DSL connection that the
entire group is sharing. I've configured the TCP/IP with the IP address, Sub
mask, gateway, prefered & alternate DNS. I'm running xp on the computer. Is
there anything else I should configure? I have another computer on the
network running XP but no problems with it, just configure TCP/IP and
everything works fine.

How are you connecting to DSL? through a modem connected to the PC or
through a router? If you are just using a modem, you will need to use ICS
and allow the DHCP to allocate IP addresses. Otherwise if you want to use
static IP's, use a proxy server such as CCProxy (free for up to 3 users)

Thanks Tony for your help, I tried a different IP address and it fixed the
problem, not sure why.
